At Southern Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, our team provides specialist plastic and reconstructive surgery services for patients in Sydney’s South and the Shire.
Our doctors — Dr Ilias Kotronakis, Dr Amira Sanki, and Dr Ania Smialkowski — are Australian-trained Specialist Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. All are Fellows of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and members of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Our Philosophy
The philosophy of Southern Aesthetic Plastic Surgery is built on respect, sensitivity, and a patient-centred approach. We recognise that considering plastic surgery is a significant decision, often following months or years of thought, and sometimes after major life events such as weight loss, pregnancy, illness, or injury. Our role is to provide a safe and professional environment where patients feel listened to, informed, and supported.
Our doctors are committed to taking time during consultations to understand each patient’s goals and to explain the options available, including potential risks, benefits, and alternatives. This allows patients to make decisions that are informed and realistic, with a clear understanding of the surgical process.
We believe in evidence-based practice, careful planning, and a collaborative approach to care. Every treatment plan is tailored to the individual, recognising that no two patients are the same. Whether a procedure is reconstructive, aesthetic, or non-surgical, the guiding principle remains the same — to provide care that prioritises patient safety, respects each individual’s circumstances, and supports long-term wellbeing.
Our surgeons work as part of a broader team, including nurses and allied health professionals, to ensure comprehensive care throughout the surgical journey. From the first consultation, through surgery, and into recovery, the emphasis is on communication, safety, and compassion.
At Southern Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, our commitment extends beyond surgery itself. We value ongoing follow-up and support, recognising that recovery is both a physical and emotional process. By fostering trust and maintaining open communication, we aim to help patients feel confident and well supported throughout their experience.
Important Information:
All surgical procedures carry risks, including bleeding, infection, wound healing problems, scarring, and anaesthetic complications. Outcomes vary between individuals. A consultation with a qualified plastic surgeon is the best way to determine whether surgery may be appropriate for you.
Choosing the right doctor is one of the most important decisions you can make when considering surgery. Your family doctor can usually give you good advice. Make sure your plastic surgeon has the only specialist surgical qualification recognized by the Australian Medical Council, a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons specifically in plastic surgery (FRACS Plast).
